Due to the pristine waters of the Pacific Ocean and Chile's geography, Chile offers a wide variety of marine products. This industry is subject to strict environmental regulations. Salmon and pompano are two of the most outstanding products, exported to more than 100 international markets. This industry continues to solve challenges with a focus on sustainability, food, safety and security. More than 70% of salmon farming companies have ISO (9001, 14001 and 22000), BRC Food, IFC, SQF certifications, following the Best Aquaculture Practices. The pompano fishery has achieved its sustainable certification, under the Marine Stewardship Council, and the MSC program, which recognises sustainable fishing worldwide, making it the largest certified fishery in Latin America.
