"Chile´s metalworking industry has placed great importance on adding value to its products, which can include: copper wire, breathing apparatuses and gas masks, bars and profiles, and even car parts and accesories (mainly gearboxes). The metalworking industry in Chile has been adding benefits to its products. Chile also produces other alloyed steels that include hollow bars for drilling.
Key foreign markets for this industry are: Peru, the United States, Brazil, and Argentina.
There has been growth in the demand for machinery used for the exploitation of mines, quarries, and construction projects which shows the diversity of uses and applicable industries for special use machinery.
The industry is well connected and collaborative, with organizations such as Asimet and Asexma representing over 200 industry members.
