Forestry
The Chilean forestry industry is strongly connected with international trade, responding to the needs and challenges of the 21st Century while employing a sustainable business model. Chilean forestry is responsible for 2-3% of the national GDP and 8-10% of total exports over the last few decades. Chile offers a wide range of products that include small parts, stationary and pieces to prefabricated homes, panels, pallets, floor, doors, design objects, and others. The main products exported from Chile are: chemical pulp, sawn timber, mouldings, boards, and plates. These products are available in over 120 global markets and are recognized worldwide for their quality, as 70% of products from Chile are certified as productive forests, 30% above the global average. Forest certifications guarantee the competitiveness and differentiation of Chilean lumber products.
